About PoliticDate
PoliticDate is an independently operated prelaunch dating website. PoliticDate is not yet an active dating service. This policy explains how we handle information submitted through this website, mainly through the waitlist.
Information We Collect
- First name — to personalize waitlist records.
- Email address — to identify your registration, prevent duplicates, and, if you agree, send launch updates.
- Political affiliation (optional) — to understand interest in the platform. Collected only if you choose to provide it.
- Launch-update consent — your acknowledgment, when you register, that you may receive an email notification when PoliticDate launches.
- Age confirmation — you must confirm that you are at least 18 years old to register. We record that you confirmed, when you confirmed, and the version of the statement shown. This confirmation does not independently verify your age.
- Registration metadata — the date and time of registration.
- Source and campaign — how you arrived at the site (for example, a Facebook post link), based on the link you used or the referring website. Recorded as "Unknown" when not available.
To limit abuse, we use a one-way, non-reversible hash of your network address for short-term rate limiting. We do not store your IP address with your registration.
Political Affiliation
Political opinions may be considered sensitive personal information in some places. Political affiliation is optional. You may leave it blank or select "Prefer Not to Say," and your selection does not affect your ability to join the waitlist. If you choose to share an affiliation, it is stored with your registration only because you voluntarily provided it. You may withdraw by removing yourself from the waitlist.
How Information Is Stored and Protected
Waitlist information is stored in a private database hosted by our website platform provider. Access is restricted so that only the authorized site owner can view registrations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Service Providers
PoliticDate uses third-party service providers to support website hosting, secure data storage, and transactional email delivery. These providers process information on our behalf to operate and maintain the website and its waitlist.
Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies, Storage, and Analytics
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. The site uses your browser's session storage to remember how you arrived during your visit so that source and campaign can be saved with a registration; this is cleared when your browser session ends. Our hosting provider may collect aggregated, platform-level visit statistics.
Retention and Deletion
Waitlist information is kept until you remove yourself or until the waitlist is no longer needed. When you confirm removal, your registration is deleted from the active database. Copies may persist for a limited time in backups maintained by our hosting provider, or where retention is required by law.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, or to withdraw consent. You can remove yourself from the waitlist at any time through the Contact page, which sends a secure, time-limited removal link to your email address. For other requests, contact us through the channel listed below.
Children and Age Eligibility
PoliticDate and its waitlist are intended only for people 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has registered, please contact us so the registration can be removed.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as PoliticDate develops. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
